The coffee shows up; he takes one of those little cream containers and peels back the lid, dumps it into his cup, adds a spoonful of sugar and stirs it up.
"How come you're hangin' around with some lowlife like me?" He laughs when he says it, not entirely serious but not entirely jokin' neither. Shit, half the time he don't even know why he hangs around with some lowlife like him.
