The pair of deadbolts and four chains on his door ought to be enough of a testament to the fact people do know him around here, so he has to laugh at the question. "Yeah, they know me. Lived in this city my whole friggin' life." But it's a big city and he's always meetin' new people. As he locks up behind them, keys on a chain attached to his belt, weapon holstered 'cause he goes friggin' nowhere without that thing, he leads her down the couple flights and out the door. It's a nice day out here in Midgar. Sun's shining, people goin' about their business. Hey Reno, hey Reno.
Yeah, they know him. Morning, Reno and friend. "Is it still morning?" he counters, but it's good-natured and they only have to step over one guy on the way. In fact, he stops and drags the guy to a sitting position, back propped against a nearby wall, so he doesn't get run over or nothin'.
It ain't what Sector 7 used to be before he destroyed it, this part of town, but none of it's what it used to be before friggin' Sephiroth decided to play God. But, he reminds himself, that's what happens with psychopaths, and the guy's gone now, and the place is gettin' rebuilt, slow but sure.
A couple blocks away, he leads Sin into this place that just says COFFEE on the door, but it's actually his favorite breakfast place, entirely kick-ass.
"Morning, Reno. Morning, Reno's friend. Coffee for two?"
Her name's Daphne, and she's cute. She's overnighted at his place a couple times, but she's about as jealous as a friggin' Mandragora and knows the drill.
"You know it. Cream and sugar."
He takes his seat across from Sin and nods to the waitress. Yeah, another day, and business as usual.
