It's about then that the first pair of yellow eyes blinks up out of the darkness. They're in a vaguely humanoid blot of darker darkness slinking and twitching in their direction. And where that first pair appears, there's soon another.
And another.
And another.
And they advance.
"Here they come," Axel says. He spreads his hands at his sides, summoning his chakrams in a whorling burst of flame. "Start running." And he follows his own instructions.
